Professor James Clark is widely recognised as a pioneer in green and sustainable chemistry. He established the world-leading Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence at York and most recently the Circa Renewable Chemistry Institute, as well as the world’s leading journal in the area, Green Chemistry. He has won numerous awards and prizes for his work in research, education and commercialisation including the 2021 European prize for sustainable chemistry. He is the (co-)inventor of the new green, commercial solvents Cyrene TM and TMO, as well as the biomass-derived materials StarbonsTM.
Professor Magda Titirici is the Chair in Sustainable Energy Materials at Imperial College London and the RAEng Chair in Emerging Technologies. Her research is focused on sustainable materials for energy storage and conversion, with over 260 peer-reviewed publications and more than 33,000 citations.
Ms Mengnan Wang is a researcher at Imperial College London, working alongside Professor Magda Titirici. Her research focuses on the development of bio-inspired and bio-derived carbon materials for energy storage and conversion. In addition, she holds a PRINCE2 certification as a project manager, and has over 5 years of experience leading collaborations between academia and industry.
